Mobile Warden (Welwyn Garden City)
6 month fixed term contract

£20,089 - £22,081 pro rata

2 x 8 hour days
2 x 16 hours standby

Working as part of a small team, you will be responsible for providing 24 hour emergency cover to the elderly, sick and disabled residents of Welwyn Garden City and the surrounding villages. Mobile Wardens are the first response in an emergency situation and therefore must be able to respond within a set time limit. You will be required to work 2 x 8 hour day shifts and then be on standby for the remaining 16 hours on a rota basis. Ideal applicants should live within the Welwyn Hatfield area.

Participating in a rota system including nights, weekends and public holidays you will respond to emergency calls dealing with a range of situations and liaising with a range of agencies and residents families. Maintaining comprehensive records of all incidents, you will ensure both the Scheme Manager and Control Centre have up to date information related to the resident involved. This post involves lone working outside of office hours.

Essential to your success will be direct experience of the care of elderly people with a good understanding of their issues and a genuine interest in their wellbeing. In addition, you will have the ability to develop positive relationships with clients and other professionals. It is essential you have a current driving licence and use of a car. This post is subject to DBS check.

The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential in this post.
