New Business Manager

(Affordable Housing Delivery)

P01555

Fixed term for a maximum of 3 years

£36,514 - £39,393 pro rata inclusive of outer fringe allowance
Up to 28 hours per week (negotiable)

The Council has an excellent record in delivering new affordable homes and close joint working with a range of organisations and partners. In 2012 the Council signed up to the Government initiative to use the allowed amounts of Right to Buy receipts to deliver new affordable homes.

Since then we have put in place a number of initiatives to deliver our own Affordable Housing Programme and aim to provide 600 new affordable homes by 2021. Following a strategic review we are seeking a New Business Manager to lead on new opportunities to help expand our programme.

You will be a suitably qualified person with in depth detailed knowledge of housing development, affordable housing, experience in scheme feasibility and viability, the planning process and the ability to secure opportunities in both the open market and within the council’s Housing Revenue Account assets. Working creatively, with a high degree of independence, but as part of a small development team you will manage a range of initiatives and lead on specific projects.

If you have the skills required to work in a highly complex environment and lead on a range of initiatives that will assist us in innovative housing delivery, we would like to hear from you.

The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential in this post.

For further information please contact Jeremy Morton, Principal Housing Development Manager on 01707 357723.

Closing date is 22 October 2017.

Assessments and interviews will be held on 1 November 2017.
